چکیده

The most critical threat that global warming poses is undoubtedly water scarcity. Especially in the agricultural sector, an indispensable component. Therefore, it essential to develop alternative resources and methods against scarcity threatens our future. In this study, rainwater harvesting potentials on roofs of livestock barns were determined, system designs made. study was carried out at Bursa Uludag University Faculty Veterinary Medicine Animal Health Production, Research Application Center. According results, harvested December, least August. While required requirement examined poultry farms can be supplied 71.5% 13.3% completed sheep farms, 90.4% need with 216.9 m3 collected while transferred other months. possible supply 57.4% cattle winter months, rate drops 16.4% summer dairy hand, harvesting, by storing existing transferring different periods. Rainwater systems designed for pay themselves 7 years latest.

Design and Modeling of an Adaptively Controlled Rainwater Harvesting System

Management of urban stormwater to mitigate Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) is a priority for many cities; yet, few truly innovative approaches have been proposed to address the problem. Recent advances in information technology are now, however, providing cost-effective opportunities to achieve better performance of conventional stormwater infrastructure through a Continuous Monitoring and Adap...

Sustainability of Rainwater Harvesting System in terms of Water Quality

Water is considered an everlasting free source that can be acquired naturally. Demand for processed supply water is growing higher due to an increasing population. Sustainable use of water could maintain a balance between its demand and supply. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is the most traditional and sustainable method, which could be easily used for potable and nonpotable purposes both in reside...

Rainwater harvesting system using a non-parametric stochastic rainfall generator

With water becoming an even scarcer resource, rainwater harvesting (RWH) systems are becoming increasingly more commonplace as mechanisms to capture and store rainwater for both agricultural and domestic use. Three important engineering considerations associated with the construction of RWH systems are the capture surface area, the tank volume required for specific demand levels, and the number...

Mandatory urban rainwater harvesting: learning from experience.

Rainwater harvesting is effectively mandated in several urban areas of New Zealand. To understand the costs and benefits of rainwater harvesting from an end-user perspective, semistructured interviews were conducted with 14 homeowners in northern Auckland affected by these regulations. Residents report differences in four aspects of urban rainwater infrastructure - security of supply, water qua...
